Amazon has expressed interest in investing in expanding its data centre in Hyderabad. Mr. Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT and Industries, held a meeting with Kerry Persson, Vice President, Data Centre Planning and Delivery, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a delegation of the company. Discussions were held on data centre operations in Telangana.


Amazon has already started its operations in Telangana. The world's largest corporate building of Amazon is located in Hyderabad. Last year, Amazon launched a dedicated air cargo network called Amazon Air.


Amazon Web Services (AWS) already has three data centres in Hyderabad. On the occasion, the representatives of the company shared ideas to expand their business along with a new hyper scale data center with artificial intelligence and mission learning based services.


Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sridhar Babu said that the talks with Amazon have been successful. He assured them of all possible help and support from the government. He expressed hope that the company would come up with a medicine for massive expansion in the state.


Kerry Persson, Vice President, Amazon Web Services, said, "We are excited about the opportunity to further expand our cloud presence in Hyderabad.


He expressed the view that Hyderabad will play a key role in the growth of Amazon Web Services cloud services with artificial intelligence. The company will continue to partner with the Telangana government to achieve its digital growth goals.
