Campaigning for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections concluded on Thursday evening. In this phase, voting will take place in 57 constituencies across seven states and one union territory tomorrow, Saturday. A total of 904 candidates are contesting in this last phase of the election. All 13 seats in Punjab and all four seats in Himachal Pradesh will be up for polls.
Additionally, voting will be conducted in Chandigarh, a union territory. 42 seats of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will also undergo voting. Notably, voting will be held in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Varanasi constituency in this phase. Key candidates include Harsimrat Kaur of Shiromani Akali Dal from Bhantida constituency in Punjab, BJP candidate Kangana Ranawat from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, and Vikramaditya Singh of Congress.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the Varanasi voters to set a new voting record on June 1. He emphasized that the election in Kashi symbolizes the establishment of a developed India and is not just about Navkashi. Modi, in a video message before the polls, expressed his reverence for Kashi as a city of devotion, strength, and detachment.
He described Kashi as the cultural hub of the world and the birthplace of music. Modi attributed his representation of the city to the divine grace of Baba Vishwanath and the support of the people. The Prime Minister stated that every vote from the people of Kashi strengthens him and provides renewed energy.
