Bengaluru's BBMP has lodged a police complaint against individuals for erecting unauthorized banners in Padmanabhanagar. The BBMP stated that these banners were put up without proper authorization. Adhering to a high court ruling, the display of advertisement boards or flexes is prohibited within BBMP boundaries.
In an effort to curb vandalism of public property, the BBMP has introduced a WhatsApp helpline (9480685700) for residents to report complaints, complete with images and precise locations. In August 2023, the high court reprimanded the BBMP for its failure to address illegal banners and flexes. Consequently, the civic body declared that FIRs would be filed by officials upon identifying such infringements.
