Tragic Mumbai chali wall collapse claims lives of two women

An accident occurred in the Wadala Antop Hill area of Mumbai when a chawl wall collapsed, resulting in the deaths of two women. The incident, which took place in Panja Galli in Vijay Nagar, Antop Hill, was caused by the collapse of the wall on the second and third floors. The two deceased women have been identified as Shobhadevi Maurya, aged 45, and Zakirunnisa Shaikh, aged 50.

Following the collapse of the chawl wall, both women were taken to the hospital for treatment but were pronounced dead upon arrival. The tragic event unfolded at around 9:30 pm today, with a portion of the chawl wall giving way.

Fire officials reported that sections of the wall on the second and third floors, as well as the upper three floors, had collapsed, with some parts hanging precariously. While initial reports suggested two women were injured, both were unfortunately declared dead upon reaching the hospital.
