In New Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that their party is in a favorable position to lead the government with ample support. He emphasized the importance of a robust opposition in a democratic setup, leaving the decision to the people. During an interview with 'Indian Express' at his New Delhi residence, Shah criticized the opposition, particularly targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for the perceived decline in political ethics since his involvement.

Shah expressed confidence in the BJP's ability to secure a government following the sixth phase of polling, projecting a range of 300 to 310 seats. Dismissing speculations about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's retirement, Shah asserted that Modi would continue to lead, debunking claims about age-related retirement norms within the BJP.

Addressing concerns about the lack of Muslim MPs in the BJP, Shah defended the party's inclusive stance, stating that their policies are not religion-based. Shah also criticized NCP leader Sharad Pawar for political maneuvers in Maharashtra. Refuting suggestions that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi-Vadhera would be blamed for Congress's potential defeat, Shah underscored his confidence in the BJP's performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha election results.
