Uttarakhand: Three killed in separate accidents on Badrinath Highway.

Three people lost their lives in different accidents. Two people died in a taxi accident in Deolibagad. At the same time, a bike rider died after being hit by a bus carrying Chardham pilgrims.

Three individuals perished in two distinct accidents on the Badrinath Highway during the morning hours of Friday. A taxi mishap on the highway claimed the lives of two individuals, while a collision involving a bus transporting Chardham pilgrims led to the death of another person. A taxi was involved in an accident near Devlibagad on the Badrinath Highway, prompting the arrival of rescue teams.

Concurrently, a bus and a motorcycle collided near Devprayag Kodiala, resulting in one fatality and one injury. Upon receiving the report, the police, led by SHO Mahipal Singh Rawat, promptly arrived at the scene. A Bullet motorcycle was discovered wedged beneath the front of a bus on NH 07 (Rishikesh-Badrinath) near Mahadev Chatti.

Rinku (35), a resident of Brahmapuri, Kotwali Nagar, Haridwar, lost his life in the accident, while Digvijay Singh, son of Raghunandan Singh and also a resident of the aforementioned area (38), sustained serious injuries. The police swiftly transported the deceased and the injured party to AIIMS, Rishikesh via 108 service. All bus passengers were unharmed and were later transported to their destination in a tempo traveler. The bus, carrying numerous passengers on their return journey from Badrinath to Haridwar following the Chardham Yatra, was involved in the incident.

The bus was carrying 32 passengers, predominantly women. Prior to Kodiyala, near Mahadev Chatti, two individuals on a Bullet motorcycle attempted to overtake the bus from behind. This maneuver led to a collision between the bus and the motorcycle, resulting in the motorcycle being trapped beneath the bus. Subsequently, the bus driver fled the scene.
