Vikasnagar: A young man Died due to drowning in Tons river who come from Himachal Pradesh to celebrate his friend's birthday party.

Dehradun News: A young man suddenly got caught in the strong current while bathing in the river. His friends tried to save him, but he disappeared in the waves of the river.

A young man from Himachal Pradesh drowned in the Tons river while bathing near Laldhang on the Kekoti Ichchadi motor road in the Kalsi police station area. The SDRF team retrieved the body from the river and it was later handed over to his relatives after a post-mortem examination. The incident occurred while the deceased and his six friends were at the riverbank to celebrate a friend's birthday.

According to the police station, on Friday evening around 5 o'clock, a young man was swept away while bathing in the Tons river near Laldhang. The in-charge of the Kalsi police station, passing through Koti Ichchadi road, noticed a gathering at the scene. Upon hearing about the incident, he alerted the SDRF team, who conducted a search operation and eventually recovered the body from the river. Station in-charge Kalsi Vaibhav Gupta confirmed that the deceased was Anurag Chauhan (18), the son of Shyam Singh, from Kilaud village in the Puruwala police station area of Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh.

The young man's friends informed the police that he was carried away by the strong current while bathing, despite their attempts to rescue him. Following a post-mortem examination, the body was released to the family. Devraj Negi, the village head of Badana Kilod, mentioned that the deceased had recently completed his 12th examination at a school in Kilod. The father of the deceased works as a contractor, and he was the youngest of three siblings.
