Google Maps in Kerala : Heavy rain in Kerala has led to a flood-like situation and several accidents, resulting in 11 fatalities. A tragic incident occurred when a car from Kuruppantara in South Kerala plunged into a deep canal. The driver, relying on Google Maps, misjudged the road due to incorrect information, dim lighting, and waterlogged roads. The passengers, originally from Hyderabad, were visiting Kerala. The police safely rescued the tourists but the car remains underwater.

Last Friday, as they were heading to Alappuzha, the incident took place at midnight. The unfamiliarity of the area led them to depend on Google Maps, resulting in the accident. This is not the first such incident in Kerala, as similar accidents have occurred in the past, including one involving two young doctors last October.
