PTI, Srinagar — A senior Border Security Force (BSF) official revealed on Friday that approximately 150 terrorists are poised to infiltrate the Kashmir Valley from a base across the Line of Control (LoC), as winter approaches. The BSF Inspector General for the Kashmir Front, Ashok Yadav, addressed reporters regarding the ongoing security situation and the preparedness of the forces to counter potential threats. Yadav emphasized that infiltration attempts remain a persistent challenge, with intelligence agencies providing critical information to aid in the strategic planning of security operations.
"We coordinate closely with the army to ensure effective border dominance," he stated, adding that the estimated number of terrorists at their base typically ranges between 130 and 150, sometimes exceeding that figure. The Inspector General underscored the importance of maintaining vigilant surveillance as the colder months approach, during which infiltration attempts traditionally increase.
"Our security forces are well-prepared to thwart any such attempts," Yadav asserted, reassuring the public of their commitment to safeguarding the region. In addition to addressing infiltration threats, Yadav highlighted the BSF's collaboration with local police to ensure that the recently held assembly elections were conducted in a fair and peaceful manner. The coordination between agencies reflects a comprehensive approach to maintaining order and security in the region.
As tensions continue to rise along the border, the BSF remains steadfast in its mission to protect the integrity of Jammu and Kashmir, reinforcing its readiness to respond to any challenges that may arise.
