Terminal 2 at Pune's Lohegaon airport has been made operational. However, former MLA and state Congress vice-president Mohan Joshi has criticized the ruling BJP for delaying it for a year, causing undue inconvenience to the air passengers. (Pune Airport New Terminal)

Due to the policies of the Congress party and the former Prime Minister late. Inspired by Rajiv Gandhi, the IT hub of Pune (Pune Hinjewadi IT Hub) came up. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was also present on the occasion. Besides, the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) has also been implemented in Pune. This attracted entrepreneurs, big businessmen and tourists to Pune. This necessitated the expansion of the airport. About one million people travel annually. The need for the construction of Terminal 2 arose for their convenience and the construction of Terminal 2 was completed in August 2023.

In fact, Terminal 2 was expected to be operational by August 23. The airport authorities have made preparations in this regard. However, the BJP wanted to celebrate an 'event' by inaugurating it by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Because of the unavailability of the Prime Minister's date for this, the terminal built at a cost of five and a half thousand crores was virtually lying. Keeping this in mind, the Congress party pursued the opening of the terminal from December 23. I have written a letter to the then Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

On December 20, 23, a letter was sent to the Minister of Civil Aviation, protesting against the delay in the inauguration of the terminal. That movement was successful and the minister inspected the airport and announced that it would be inaugurated on February 19. To prepare for the PM's visit, Pune district guardian minister Ajit Pawar also held a meeting with officials in the second week of December.

The 'muhurat' of the inauguration was once again postponed as Prime Minister Modi was not comfortable with this date.
Then there was the great social reformer. On February 23, 2024, the Congress party led by me staged a Ghantanaad Andolan in front of the statue of Ganesh Vasudev Joshi and Sarvajanik Kaka and drew the attention of the ruling party.
The terminal was inaugurated online by the Prime Minister in March.
However, it was clear that the terminal would not be operational immediately.
The Congress condemned the Prime Minister's speech.

Former MLA Mohan Joshi said that after the Congress party's continuous pursuit, the ruling BJP woke up and now Terminal 2 is being made operational with great fanfare.
