Because of the unavailability of the Prime Minister's date for this, the terminal built at a cost of five and a half thousand crores was virtually lying. Keeping this in mind, the Congress party pursued the opening of the terminal from December 23. I have written a letter to the then Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
On December 20, 23, a letter was sent to the Minister of Civil Aviation, protesting against the delay in the inauguration of the terminal. That movement was successful and the minister inspected the airport and announced that it would be inaugurated on February 19. To prepare for the PM's visit, Pune district guardian minister Ajit Pawar also held a meeting with officials in the second week of December.
The 'muhurat' of the inauguration was once again postponed as Prime Minister Modi was not comfortable with this date.
