Uran, Maharashtra – In a significant development for transportation in the region, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde performed the Bhoomipujan for the Karanja-Revas bridge on the Revas Reddy Sea Highway this Sunday. This new bridge, stretching 2 kilometers, aims to enhance connectivity between Uran and Alibag, directly linking Mumbai to the scenic Konkan region. The inauguration was celebrated with local citizens participating from the Bhakta Bhavan of Dronagiri Temple in Karanja, utilizing the advanced Durdrishi system for a panoramic view of the event.

This bridge, which is part of a larger infrastructure project overseen by the Maharashtra Road Development Corporation, holds a total length of 10.209 kilometers and is expected to significantly ease travel between key locations. As part of the project, a tender for the construction of the bridge has been floated, amounting to a substantial 3,057 crore rupees. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of this infrastructure project, stating that it would be a game-changer for both locals and tourists traveling between Mumbai and the Konkan coastline. The bridge, along with the Sagari Setu in Mumbai, is set to facilitate a seamless journey, contributing to the region's development and accessibility.
