Kalat, Balochistan : A tragic attack on a security check post in the troubled Balochistan province on Saturday has resulted in the deaths of at least seven individuals, including security personnel, and left 10 others injured. The incident, which occurred in the Kalat district, has raised serious concerns about the ongoing violence in the region. According to reports from Geo News, the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the assault. However, official statements from the provincial government or senior law enforcement officials are yet to be released regarding the incident or the subsequent security measures being implemented. In the wake of the attack, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) confirmed that mobile internet services have been temporarily suspended in various parts of Balochistan.

This decision was made as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety amid the rising tide of terrorist activities in the province. "The decision follows directives from relevant authorities and aims to protect the public given the security situation in these areas," the PTA stated. The attack has drawn condemnation from high-ranking officials, including Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and paid tribute to those who lost their lives.

The recent surge in violence in Balochistan has been alarming, with outlawed separatist groups intensifying their attacks. Just last week, a suicide bombing at the Quetta Railway station claimed the lives of at least 27 people, further highlighting the region's precarious security landscape. As the investigation into Saturday’s attack unfolds, the local population remains on high alert, grappling with the implications of ongoing violence and disruption to essential services. The situation continues to evolve, with community safety and security remaining a top priority for authorities in Balochistan.
