The office of the Director General of Police has started preparations to maintain law and order in the state and to ensure that there is no shortage of police inspector rank officers in the wake of the upcoming elections. Additional Director General of Police, Establishment Division, Sanjeev Kumar Singhal issued the order and started the process of promotion of assistant police inspectors in April itself.

In this, assistant police inspectors of 103 number in the state were asked for cadre. Accordingly, about four hundred and fifty assistant police inspectors had filled the cadre card. As many as 86 Assistant Inspectors, who did not get Revenue Department as per their preference, have been allotted Konkan-2 Revenue Division in a circular manner.

Hence, the order of preference for Konkan-2 division was called again on Friday. Therefore, it is clear that the process of promotion of Assistant Inspectors is in the final stage and actual promotion is likely to be done in the second week of June.
