Government of Haryana: Haryana govt objects to students saying 'good morning " Orders to schools!

Anjali

The Haryana government has issued new guidelines for schools in the state. In these orders, schools have been asked to change the way students say 'good morning' every morning. The new rules will come into effect from August 15 this year. A letter in this regard has been sent to all the district education officers, block education officers and heads of schools. However, a government official told The Indian Express that the guidelines were not enforced on schools.

What are the orders?
"The Haryana government has decided to discontinue the" "Good Morning" "greeting system in schools across the state." Instead, students should chant 'Jai Hind' while greeting each other or teachers, the circular said. "The decision has been taken with an aim to inculcate patriotism among students. This will instill a sense of pride in the students about the national unity of the country and the glorious history of the country, "it said.

It is believed that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose started chanting 'Jai Hind'. After independence, the Indian Army also adopted this method. 'Jai Hind 'is a slogan that seeks to promote unity among students from different backgrounds by blurring regional, linguistic and cultural boundaries. This will instill a sense of discipline as well as unity among the students, "the government said in the letter.
An official in the Haryana government told The Indian Express, "It is not a compulsion, it is only a guideline. "These orders are similar to the guidelines issued for doing yoga or quizzes daily. On the other hand, some government officials have welcomed these new suggestions.
