Bangkok, Thailand- Israeli intelligence and security agencies, including the Mossad, have issued a heightened security advisory for Israeli citizens in Thailand, urging them to increase vigilance and avoid large gatherings. The warning comes in the wake of “recent information” and escalating concerns about potential threats to Israelis and Jews throughout the country. The advisory, issued on Tuesday, states that while the overall travel warning for Thailand remains unchanged, the Israeli government is urging citizens to take extra precautions. These precautions include avoiding events with large crowds, particularly those associated with Israel, and refraining from disclosing travel plans or location details on social media.
The advisory follows a series of incidents, including a coordinated attack against Israelis in Amsterdam during a soccer match on November 7 and 8. The Mossad and other security agencies have attributed these threats to increased efforts by Iran and its proxies to target Israelis and Jews worldwide, particularly since the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli government emphasizes that these security measures are valid for the entire country, not just specific locations. It also encourages Israelis in Thailand to remain informed about developments and follow updates from Israeli security authorities.
