Karnataka police registers first case under new correctional law.

Hassan : The Karnataka police on Monday registered the first case in the state under the new correctional law, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case pertains to ‘gadarene and careless driving ’, which caused ‘ death by negligence ’. The new law came into force on Monday replacing the social Indian Penal Code. The First Information Report under section 173 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on a complaint by Ravi HS.

Ravi indicted the motorist Sagar of Halebeedu in Hassan quarter, of driving the auto precipitously due to which the auto off a ground on Monday morning near Seege Gate between Hassan megacity and Halebeedu.

While Ravi and Sagar escaped due to the airbags, his mama - in- law, grievous head injuries seating at back. She was taken to the sanitarium where the croakers declared her dead. Grounded on a complaint, police registered a case against Sagar under sections 106( death by negligence) and 281( rash and careless driving) of the BNS.
