Sassoon Hospital - Doctor suspended.
It was a serious matter that the doctors of Sassoon Hospital were leaving the patients in a secluded place. Subsequently, a case was registered at Yerawada police station. Social activists Dadasaheb Gaikwad and Ritesh Gaikwad have been at the forefront of this movement. A doctor has been suspended in connection with the case. However, questions are being raised about the government's handling of the issue.
After this incident, the Dean of Sassoon said, "We have taken serious note of the matter. They were immediately suspended. The doctor, identified as Dr Adi Kumar, has been suspended. It is being investigated if anyone else was involved in the incident.
Ritesh Gaikwad, who lives on the footpath and provides shelter to destitute patients in the ashram through Patient Aadhaar Foundation, had brought this serious case of Sassoon to the fore.
A doctor named Adi came there and said he wanted to discharge a patient. He further said that it is difficult to take care of the patients. Therefore, we are leaving the patients in the lurch. We have decided to hire a rickshaw puller and pay him Rs 500 to Rs 600 for this, "said Ritesh Gaikwad.
