Policeman suspended in Pune.
A video of a police personnel beating up a PMPML bus driver in Pune went viral on social media. Later, an agreement was reached between police constable Rahul Waghmare and PMP driver Torne. Waghmare had also apologised to the concerned driver.
A compensation of Rs 3 lakh was also announced. After the matter seemed to be resolved, senior officers took serious note of Rahul Waghmare, a police constable, who took the law into his own hands on trivial grounds and suspended him. The order was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rohidas Pawar.
Rahul Ashok Waghmare has been appointed in the Motor Transport Department. He had beaten up PMP driver Bhagwat Bapurao Tornay. On that day, Rahul Waghmare had left home on his bike after finishing his night shift. Angered by the cut by PMP driver Bhagwat Tornay near Wadia College, Pune, he stopped the PMP on a bike and then climbed into the bus and beat up the driver Tornay with his hand. The video of the assault had gone viral on social media. Rahul Waghmare has been suspended.
