Pune ACB traps agriculture supervisor in Taluka Agriculture Officer's office for accepting bribe

Pune: The Pune Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an agricultural supervisor at Taluka Agriculture Officer's Office, Junnar, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.4,000 for sanctioning a government-funded tractor under the lottery system. The action took place on Thursday.

The 52-year-old man has filed a complaint with the Pune ACB. The complainant had got the tractor sanctioned under government subsidy through lottery. The complainant has furnished the necessary documents for the sanction of this grant. The complainant met agriculture officer Bapu Rodake to get the sanctioned subsidy for the tractor.

At that time, Rokade demanded a bribe of Rs.5,000 from the complainant. The complainant brought this to the notice of the ACB. When the ACB team verified, agriculture supervisor Bapu Rokade handed over the grant of tractor to the complainant. He demanded Rs.5 lakh. He also accepted a bribe of Rs.4 lakh accepted.

Accordingly, a team was formed. Bapu stopped while accepting bribe of Rs.4000 from complainant. He was caught red-handed. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused.

Superintendent of Police Amit Singh and DSP Pradeep Kumar visited the spot. The Pune team was guided by Sheetal Janve. Police Inspector Sheikh is conducting further investigations in the matter.
