Pune Airport's Passenger Amenities Rank Drops by 16 in ASQ Service Quality Index

With the increase in the number of passengers at the airport, the quality of passenger facilities is declining. Passengers have been in trouble due to the cancellation of services. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol is from Pune.

The Airport Service Quality Index is published by the Airports Council International. The survey covered 400 airports in 95 countries around the world. There are 14 airports in the country. The Pune airport has slipped to 76th position on the index, based on the survey for the April-June quarter this year.


Pune Airport scored 4.81 out of 5. In the previous January-March quarter, the Pune airport was ranked 71st and received a score of 4.83. As a result, the quality of passenger services at the airport has deteriorated.

The service quality index takes into account 31 important factors at the airport. These include cleanliness, security, Wi-Fi, availability of charging points, flight information, seating arrangements, among others. The name of Pune airport has been reduced to 16 out of 31 services. They are as follows,

1) Unavailability of check-in area, 2) Courtesy of staff at check-in area, 3) Waiting period for security check, 4) Courtesy of security staff, 5) Shops at airport, 6) Courtesy of customs staff, 7) Airport seating, 8) Courtesy of catering staff, 9) Quality of Wi-Fi service, 10) Availability of charging stations, 11) Entertainment and leisure facilities, 12) Availability of washrooms, 13) Clean toilets, 14) Health security, 15) Cleanliness at airport, 16) Aircrafts connecting various destinations
