The police will use the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS). The system is based on AI technology. If a vehicle violates the traffic rules at the intersection, the penalty receipt will be sent to the driver's mobile phone in just five minutes. For this, the police will take the help of automatic number plate recognition camera. It will be an automatic number plate recognition camera.

Police have started investigation in this regard. Senior police officials informed that the consultants will be appointed soon and the work will also start. At present, there are 430 smart city cameras and 1,341 crime cameras in the city.

Pune has the highest number of vehicles in the country. As a result, a large number of people are violating traffic rules. Inadequate manpower in the traffic department, traffic regulation and various other functions limit the police from taking punitive action against such drivers.

On the other hand, many places cannot be monitored at the same time while taking action through the cameras from the control room. Therefore, the police are considering to implement this smart system by making effective use of cameras on signals.

In the present situation, the police sitting in the control room select the chowk from the cameras. It takes screenshots of photographs of signal breakers at the intersection, two-wheeler riders coming in triple seats, vehicles stopped at the zebra crossing. It contains the number of the vehicle.

This information is then given to the respective transport department along with the photo of the vehicles. The fine is then sent to the driver's mobile phone along with a photo. However, now through this system, the receipt of the fine will come on the mobile of the driver in a few minutes.

Through the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) system, cameras installed at intersections and roads will be linked to the 'Sarathi' and 'Vahan' websites of the Regional Transport Department. All the cameras are high-tech. These cameras will automatically take pictures of the drivers as soon as they break the rules.

Since the camera and the vehicle are connected to the system, the fine amount will be sent to the mobile number by messaging the drivers who violate the rules. Action will be taken against those violating traffic rules such as over-speeding and overspeeding.
