Solapur: Bullets fired at farmer over petty dispute

Solapur : A bullet-wielding youth allegedly shot at a farmer and tried to kill him. Motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire in front of the ST bus stand at Velapur in Malshiras taluka. The main accused has been arrested while the other two are still absconding.

Kundalik Pandurang Shinde (27 years old, Ra. Dasur, Th. The injured farmer has been identified as Malshiras. Avdhoot Narayan Shendge (24yrs) is the main accused in the case. Pisewadi, Ta. Malshiras has been arrested and his accomplices Anil Shendge and Sagar Shendge, along with two other unidentified assailants, are being searched by the Samayapur police.

Kundalik Shinde, after finishing his daily work in the field, had left for the village in the evening on a bullet bike. At Velapur, a white-coloured motor, which was being chased in front of the ST bus stand, suddenly stopped in front of Shinde's bullet. At the same time, Avdhoot Shendge and other accomplices fired at Kundalik Shinde with a gun from a car. A bullet hit him in his left shoulder. In a fit of rage, Shinde, who was seriously injured, fired a bullet and fled to the Vailapur police station. Police immediately took him to a hospital.

According to the complaint filed by the injured Kundalik Shinde, he had a quarrel with Avdhoot Shendge twice in the past year over a trivial issue. Police have registered cases against them. Meanwhile, for the last five months, the main accused Avdhoot Shendge had come to Dasur village and was threatening Kundalik Shinde.

According to the complainant, he approached Shinde from time to time and opened fire at his accomplices. On receiving information, Superintendent of Police Mahesh Kumar rushed to the spot and enquired about the incident. He directed the police officials to trace the accused and seize the weapon and the motorbike used in the crime.
