Tragic Accident in Pune: Woman Dies After Dumper Hits Two-Wheeler Couple

Pune, India — In a heartbreaking incident on Sunday morning, a speeding dumper struck a two-wheeler couple on a busy city road, resulting in the death of a female passenger. The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Srichandana Vishwanath Hektum, a resident of Nyati Ilon in Wagholi and originally from Andhra Pradesh. According to eyewitnesses, the couple had just finished playing badminton and were heading home when the accident occurred near Chitale Sweet Shop on Nagar Road.

The impact of the collision was devastating; Srichandana was found trapped under the rear wheels of the dumper and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her partner, Vishwanath, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital. The driver of the dumper fled the scene immediately after the accident, prompting the Lonikand police to initiate a manhunt for the suspect. Authorities arrived promptly at the location after being alerted about the incident.
