Young Man Sets His Bike Ablaze After Drunk Driving Arrest in Vasai

Vasai, Maharashtra – In a shocking display of rage, a 30-year-old man named Shivkumar Nair set fire to his motorcycle after being apprehended by police for drunk driving. The incident occurred on Thursday evening in Suncity, Vasai West, shortly after Nair was stopped during a routine police blockade around 3 PM. According to authorities, Nair was found to be under the influence of alcohol when officers initiated the traffic stop. Following standard procedure, the police confiscated his bike and instructed him to return the next day with the necessary documentation.

However, things took a dramatic turn when Nair returned to the scene around 5 PM and engaged in a heated argument with the police. In an unexpected outburst, he ignited his bike in a fit of rage, leaving onlookers stunned. Senior Inspector Mahesh Shetye of the Vasai Traffic Police confirmed the incident, stating, "His reaction was impulsive and reckless. Thankfully, no one was injured during this dangerous act."

The police have since detained Nair for questioning and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
