Earthquake in Marathwada: Tremors Recorded in Hingoli, Parbhani, and Nanded, Magnitude 4.5 on Richter Scale

Police Report Online – Earthquake In Marathwada: A strong tremor struck Hingoli, Parbhani, and Nanded regions this morning at 6:08 AM. The earthquake recorded a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Rameshwar Tanda, Vasmat taluka. The tremor was felt within a radius of 10 kilometers. However, District Magistrate Jitendra Papalkar stated that no casualties have been reported.

Meanwhile, some old houses in the affected area have been damaged. People panicked and rushed out of their homes as the tremors struck. Notably, after this major tremor, another 3.6 Richter scale aftershock was felt. It is being reported that this is the biggest aftershock in the Latur district after the Killari earthquake

In this regard, district authorities have stated that information about where the damage occurred is being collected. In some parts of Parbhani and Nanded districts, the intensity of the earthquake was higher. If there is any damage due to this earthquake, information about it is being quickly provided to the administration, and notices are being given to the officials in the villages.

In Hingoli district, the frequency of land subsidence has increased in the last three to four years. Incidents of houses collapsing due to subsidence are occurring frequently.
