Hostel Owner arrested in MPSC girl suicide case

Pune: MPSC girl commits suicide (Suicide Case). The incident took place in Pune on Thursday. The girl has been identified as Abhilasha Mittal. Suspicion was raised as marks of assault were found on the body. Finally, the case has been solved and the Khadak police have arrested the hostel ownwer for abetment to suicide. Abhilasha hails from Washim district. Abhilasha had come to Pune last month to prepare for competitive exams. She was staying at a girls' hostel in Guruvar Peth on in Pune. She committed suicide on April 7. She was alone in the room and locked the door. Initial investigation revealed that there were injury marks on the victim's body. Police were investigating whether it was a suicide or murder.

According to the Khadak police, Sunil Parameshwar Mahanor, the hostel ownwer of the hostel where Abhilasha was staying, was arrested. Mahanor demanded money from her and beat her up. Her father lodged a complaint with the police. Sunil has been arrested. She had gone to her room crying after she was beaten up by Sunil Mahanor. She then locked the door. Abhilasha had told her father Mahendra Mittal over the phone that she wanted to change the hostel. But no one thought it would end. A case has been registered at the Mahendra Park police station in this regard. Further investigation is done by the police.
