Pimpri Deception Case: In an intricate scheme, a substantial amount of money was exchanged for what seemed to be a significant increase in cash, but turned out to be fraudulent. The incident unfolded on November 30, 2023, around 10:30 pm in Transport Nagar, Pune Pimpri Chinchwad.

Akash Satyavan Shete (30 years) from Vadgaon Kashimbe, Ta. Ambegaon, and Sachin Eknath Narwade (37 years) are the individuals implicated in this case. Both have been apprehended, and a case has been filed against them, along with Tushar Teke and two other unidentified individuals, under IPC sections 406, 420, and 34. The complaint was lodged at the Nigdi police station on March 31.

The complainant, Shubham Bhagwan Sonawane (28 years) from Charoli, got acquainted with Akash Shete during the construction of a hotel. Shete, along with his associates, persuaded Shubham to invest money, claiming knowledge of the Kanti Note Press in Nashik, where some printed notes are discarded but still in circulation.

Shubham was shown a video purportedly depicting the printing of genuine currency notes, convincing him of the profitability of the venture. Shete promised to return a multiplied amount from Nashik. Convinced, Shubham handed over Rs 10 lakh at Transport Nagar and received Rs 30 lakh in return.

Upon scrutiny at home, Shubham discovered that the notes were actually Children's Certified receipts, not genuine currency. Attempts to contact Akash Shete proved futile, as his phone was switched off. When Shubham finally managed to reach him, Shete insisted that the notes were genuine.

Realizing he had been deceived, Shubham lodged a complaint with the police, leading to the arrest of both perpetrators. Assistant Police Inspector Ambarish Deshmukh is conducting further investigations into the matter.
