In an interview with news agency ANI, Abdullah stated that if the defense minister aims to acquire POK, there should be no interference. He highlighted Pakistan's nuclear capabilities as a deterrent. Singh, in an earlier speech, expressed optimism about POK willingly integrating with India due to evolving circumstances in the region.

He emphasized that POK belongs to India and foresaw a peaceful merger driven by the populace. Singh also noted significant improvements in Kashmir post the Article 370 abrogation, hinting at a potential relaxation of security measures in the near future.
