Prime Minister Modi conveyed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that India's position is that the two countries need to talk to each other to find a final solution to the more than two-and-a-half-year-old war between Russia and Ukraine. After Prime Minister Modi's visit to Ukraine on Friday, the two leaders held extensive discussions on bilateral relations as well as the Ukraine war.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that a large part of the discussion was about bilateral relations. The Russia-Ukraine war was also discussed. "Modi's first visit to Ukraine has been described as a" "historic visit" "by India." Modi emphasised the need for participation of all stakeholders in developing innovative solutions for wider acceptability and contributing to peace and stability in the war-torn region. He reiterated India's readiness to contribute towards an early conclusion of peace in Ukraine.
During a detailed, frank and constructive discussion between the two leaders, Prime Minister Modi conveyed to Zelensky that there was widespread concern in the Global South about the consequences of this war. Modi asked Zelensky about his assessment of the actual war situation and the political picture. On this, Zelensky told about it. He also said that Ukraine wants India to continue participating in the Global Peace Summit.
2nd World Peace Summit to be held in India
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is looking forward to hosting the 2nd World Peace Summit in India. I am planning to visit India. He said that once the partnership, the strategic partnership begins and the dialogue begins, not much time will be lost. Zelenskyy said that it is important for peace to be able to communicate with the Indians on that occasion. The first World Peace Summit was held in Switzerland. The purpose of the summit is to end the war in Ukraine.
