US Expresses Confidence in India Amid Concerns Over Russia Collaboration

In New Delhi, US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell mentioned that the US has some concerns about India's collaboration with Russia in military and technology sectors. However, Washington also expressed confidence and trust in New Delhi to enhance cooperation in key areas. Campbell highlighted the importance of a strong technological partnership between the US and India, acknowledging the impact of India's ties with Russia on military and technological aspects.

Despite expressing some reservations, the US aims to strengthen its partnership with India in technology while addressing potential challenges arising from the India-Russia relationship. Campbell emphasized the significance of respectful dialogue between the two countries, acknowledging differences in perspectives and historical ties.

Following discussions between NSA Ajit Doval and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, both countries unveiled initiatives to enhance cooperation in semiconductor, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and defense space. Measures were also outlined to prevent the transfer of sensitive technologies to countries of concern.

Additionally, details were shared regarding India's potential acquisition of MQ-9B Predator drones and collaborations in manufacturing combat vehicles and aircraft engines. Campbell noted that the drone deal is progressing, with negotiations ongoing to address any outstanding issues.
