Noida News : The police have apprehended four suspects, including a female, in connection with the abduction and subsequent killing of minor Kunal from Shiva Dhaba in the Beta-2 police station region of Greater Noida. The suspects, burdened by a hefty debt of Rs2.5 lakh owed to their business partner for the dhaba and the accruing interest, devised the scheme a month ago after watching a Netflix series.
Collaborating with an accomplice and his girlfriend, the culprits orchestrated the murder by abducting Kunal from a car, executing him, and discarding his body in the Bulandshahr canal. The authorities recovered the murder vehicle, the bag containing the victim's remains, and other related items along with the suspects. In the sequence of events, Krishna Kumar Sharma visited the dhaba and fruitlessly searched for Kunal, whose mobile phone was switched off.
A CCTV footage capturing Kunal being taken away in a car surfaced, prompting Sharma to report the abduction to the Beta 2 police station. Subsequently, a case was registered, and investigative efforts commenced. On May 5, Kunal's body was discovered in a canal near the village Jalpura alias Jalkheda in the Kotwali Dehat area of the Bulandshahr district.
Following a confrontation, two suspects, Manoj Sharma and Himanshu, were arrested. The information provided by them led to the detention of Kunal Bhati and the female accomplice, along with the recovery of the bag containing the victim's remains, the vehicle, clothes, Kunal's mobile phone, and other items. The Additional Police Commissioner disclosed that the genesis of the murder was rooted in financial matters, with Manoj owing a significant sum to Kunal's father, Krishna Kumar Sharma.
This debt dispute eventually led to the murder plot being hatched, aiming to wrest control of Shiva Dhaba. After watching a web series, the suspects meticulously planned the murder, which involved kidnapping Kunal, attacking him, and disposing of his body in the canal. They also took measures to destroy evidence, such as altering the vehicle's stickers.
