The Mumbai Municipal Corporation has successfully gathered 4320 crores in property tax this year. Property owners have until May 25 to make their payments, with a 2 percent monthly fine for late payments. The municipality is approaching its property tax collection goal with only three days left.
Despite facing challenges in online tax payment disbursement, the Accesses and Collector Department extended the deadline from March 31 to May 25. The department is making efforts to meet the 4500 crores target for the 2023-24 financial year, with a current deficit of 180 crores.
