An incident occurred in Shivkhori involving a bus carrying devotees on their way for Devdarshan that plunged 150 feet. 21 passengers lost their lives, while 40 sustained injuries. The tragedy unfolded on the Poonch highway in the Akhnoor region of Jammu and Kashmir. Initial reports indicate that all passengers aboard the bus were from Kurukshetra, Haryana.

The bus, ferrying devotees from Jammu to Shivkhori for the pilgrimage, veered out of control in the Tanda area of Akhnoor, causing it to plummet into the ravine. The current death toll stands at 21 individuals. Rescue efforts are underway at the scene, with the injured receiving treatment at the government hospital in Akhnoor, as confirmed by the District Collector of Jammu.

President Draupadi Murmu also expressed sorrow over the incident, sharing condolences and prayers for the swift recovery of the injured passengers on social media.
