On the eve of Independence Day, the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been announced. Pune Police Commissioner Satish Govekar has been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
He is currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Crime Branch of the Pune Police. He has been involved in many major crimes. He has worked in the criminal justice department for many years.
Additional Director General of Police Chiranjiv Prasad and Director General of Police Rajendra Dahale have also been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. The President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to 39 police officers and police officials of Maharashtra.
