Passengers who had booked tickets with Air India Express faced continued misery in Kannur. On Thursday, four flights slated to fly from Kannur to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Dammam were suddenly cancelled. The passengers were informed about the cancellations upon reaching the airport on Thursday morning. As per the passengers, the airline indicated that their travel could only recommence post May 13, leaving those heading to the Gulf, including individuals with expired visas and holiday makers, in a puzzling predicament.

There are apprehensions that the Air India Express strike will persist, although some flights are still in operation. International services from Kochi to Sharjah, Dammam, Muscat, and Bahrain, along with domestic services to Bengaluru, were axed on Wednesday. The Sharjah-bound early morning flight was canceled even after boarding passes had been issued to certain passengers.

The cancellation of the flight scheduled to depart on Tuesday night was announced only after passengers had received their boarding passes and cleared security checks in Thiruvananthapuram. Services to Sharjah, Chennai, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bengaluru, and Muscat have been called off, including three flights to Thiruvananthapuram.
