Numerous Air India Express flights were canceled because many employees took mass leave, causing significant inconvenience for air passengers. The company is set to release a statement amidst the ongoing tensions with its employees. Air India Express Airlines has taken a firm stance against the employees who participated in the mass leave and terminated 25 of them. Sources linked to the airlines revealed that the dismissed employees failed to report for duty and exhibited unprofessional behavior. It is important to note that the mass leave incident led to numerous flight cancellations and passenger disruptions. The company will issue a statement shortly addressing the ongoing situation with its employees. In response to alleged mismanagement, over 200 cabin crew members of Tata Group-owned Air India Express simultaneously took mass leave, resulting in the cancellation of over 100 flights and significant passenger inconvenience. Approximately 15,000 passengers were affected by the disruption in Air India Express operations. The airline, known for its extensive flights to Gulf countries, faced crew shortages leading to the cancellation of numerous flights between India and the Gulf. With around 360 daily flights, the airline's operations were severely impacted. Following the widespread flight cancellations and passenger inconvenience, the Civil Aviation Ministry requested a report from Air India Express and urged the airline to promptly address the issues with its employees. Flight operations were disrupted at various airports including Kochi, Calicut, Delhi, and Bengaluru, with 14 flights canceled at Delhi airport alone by Wednesday evening. The reduction in Air India Express flights may persist until May 13.
