In Andhra Pradesh, instances of cash seizures during the election phase have occurred. Recently, a surprising case emerged where seven crores in cash was seized without alerting the Bharari team. The police stumbled upon this illegal cash following an accident in East Godavari district.
A collision between a private vehicle and a lorry in Anantapalli, Nallazarla mandal led to the vehicle overturning, revealing seven cardboard boxes filled with cash. The driver was seen transferring the cash into a bag, prompting locals to alert the authorities. The driver, injured in the accident, is receiving treatment at a hospital in Gopalpuram, while the police have commenced an investigation to determine the cash's legitimacy.
In a separate incident, 8 crores were seized in a truck at a police checkpoint in Andhra's NTR district, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. The cash was concealed in a hidden compartment within the truck. These occurrences transpired following the commencement of voting on May 13 in the state, marking the second significant action taken by authorities thus far.
