This is the first time in the history of Test cricket that Pakistan have won a Test series in Bangladesh. But in the meantime, the ICC has only deepened the wounds of Pakistan's defeat, adding a little bit to the euphoria of Bangladesh's victory. The ICC has taken a big decision to deduct the points of both the teams.


ICC punishes Pakistan for not doing enough
The Pakistan-Bangladesh Test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship. The ICC is keeping a close eye on it. If there is even a slight mistake, the ICC takes immediate action. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to deduct 6 points for Pakistan and 3 points for Bangladesh due to slow over-rate in the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. As per Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent
Pakistan were docked six WTC points and fined 30 per cent of their match fees. Bangladesh were docked three WTC points and fined 15 per cent of their match fees for the slow over-rate.

As per Article 16.11.2 of the WTC Terms and Conditions, a team is fined one point for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time. With this loss, Pakistan has slipped to the eighth position in the nine-team WTC points table, while Bangladesh is in the seventh position. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee and handed one demerit point for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. The second and final Test will be played in Rawalpindi from Friday.
Pakistan vs Bangladesh 1st Test: Highlights

Batting first, Pakistan declared their innings at 448 / 6. Captain Shan Masood must have felt that these runs would be enough for Bangladesh. But Bangladesh thought otherwise. Bangladesh had scored 565 runs in their first innings. Bangladesh took the lead in the first innings. But the entire team failed. They were all out for 146 runs. The match was completely in Bangladesh's hands. Bangladesh scored 30 runs without any loss in the second innings of the match and won the match by ten wickets.
