The Democracy News :- Union Minister Nitin Gadkari clarified that the collapse of the bridge in Bihar's Araria district was not the responsibility of the Union Road Transport Ministry. The bridge was actually constructed by the Bihar Government's Rural Development Ministry. The incident occurred in Pararia village, where a section of the newly built bridge over the Bakra River gave way.

Fortunately, there were no reported casualties. Gadkari mentioned in a Hindi post on X that the construction of the collapsed bridge was not overseen by the Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry, but rather by the Rural Development Ministry of Bihar. The bridge, which links Kursa Kanta and Sikty areas in Araria district, had not been opened to the public yet due to the incomplete approach roads.

Amit Ranjan, the Superintendent of Police in Araria, informed PTI that a portion of the bridge had collapsed and officials were on-site to investigate. The cause of the collapse remains unknown.
