Roy Kapur Films and Trickitainment Media have officially acquired the rights to produce a biopic on Sukumar Sen, India's inaugural Chief Election Commissioner. Sen, a mathematician-turned-civil servant, supervised the landmark 1952 Indian general election. The announcement precedes the vote counting of the 18th general election by a day. Siddharth Roy Kapur, the producer at Roy Kapur Films, expressed pride in depicting Sen's remarkable journey, hailing him as a national hero.

He emphasized Sen's contributions to modern electoral practices, such as the unique identification of political parties using symbols and colors and the introduction of indelible ink on voters' nails to prevent fraud. Romanchak Arora of Trickitainment Media highlighted the compelling and impactful nature of Sen's narrative, asserting its significance across generations of Indian voters.

Sanjiv Sen, Sen's grandson, credited his grandfather for establishing the foundation of India's vibrant electoral framework. The production has garnered support from Sen's family, with his grandson Sanjiv Sen extending well wishes to the film makers in presenting the unsung hero's story to a wider audience. Sen's second grandson, Debdatta Sen, also expressed congratulations and encouragement for the success of the project.
