Currently, the constitution has become a focal point in the campaign meetings of all political parties, impacting the voters noticeably. Farmers in Haryana and Punjab are showing dissatisfaction towards the BJP. In Kurukshetra, locals express concerns about the state of democracy, with farmer Mahaveer Lamba stating that "Democracy is under threat and this is a battle to save democracy.

"Lamba, a resident of Lamba Kheri village in Kaithal district, participated in a campaign meeting led by Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal. The farmers are urging for a boycott against the BJP, particularly advocating for a legislation ensuring a minimum base price (MSP). This sentiment is reflected in the call for boycotts in various villages of Punjab and Haryana, with protestors displaying black flags and raising slogans against the BJP. The elections for all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana are set for May 25, with the outcome expected to reflect the farmers' discontent.

In Kurukshetra, the BJP has nominated Navin Jindal, chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), who previously served as a Congress MP for the constituency. The opposition farmers in Kurukshetra appear supportive of the protesters, with AAP candidate Sushil Gupta and Indian National Lok Dal candidate Abhay Singh Chautala vying for the seat. The JJP candidate Pala Ram Saini is seen as a potential threat to the BJP's voter base, particularly among the Saini community, constituting around 8% of the population.

Kurukshetra, a focal point of the farmers' movement, has witnessed discussions on democracy, constitution, and the alleged authoritarianism of opposition parties. The region's farmers are expressing concerns about restrictions on their movement within the country, juxtaposed with external territorial challenges. The Congress is contesting in 9 out of 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, with the AAP securing the Kurukshetra seat.

Congress and AAP are focusing on cooperative campaigning, given AAP's limited presence in the constituency. The local residents are divided in their views, with some expressing fears about constitutional changes if the BJP retains power, while others highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government. In the electoral landscape, the BJP has drawn support from the OBC, Punjabi, and Brahmin communities, while the Congress-AAP alliance is backed by the Jat, Sikh, and Dalit communities.

The BJP's emphasis on social welfare schemes is juxtaposed with concerns regarding government recruitment transparency. Both Jindal and Gupta belong to the Bania-Agarwal community, comprising 4.5% of the local population, with the BJP working to consolidate support across various sections of society.
