In Amritsar, Punjab, burglars have stolen by forcefully entering a residence. Four robbers wearing masks invaded the residence of Arhatiya Gaurav Kumar on Gali Tokariyanwali on Court Road, where they took his elderly parents captive and stole one crore rupees in cash along with approximately three kilograms of gold jewelry.
The occurrence happened at approximately 4 am on Wednesday. During that period, only Jiya Lal and Bimla Devi, Gaurav's parents, were present in the house. Gaurav had left the house for business purposes.
In the course of the event, the thieves remained at the residence for approximately sixty minutes and thoroughly examined each room in the house. While departing, the thieves also absconded with the handgun and Activa scooter stored in the cabinet. Upon receiving the information, officers from the Civil Line police station arrived at the scene and began taking action by documenting the statement.
Gaurav Kumar informed the authorities that his family works as Arhatiya. He had been away from home for work starting on Monday. Jiya Lal's father and Bimla Devi's mother were the only ones at home. As usual, the parents left the house for a walk at 4 am on Wednesday morning, just like they do every day. The thieves, who were already positioned outside the house, forcefully guided them indoors.
Two individuals were in possession of axes while another had a firearm. When Jiya Lal's father began to protest by shouting, one of the robbers struck him with the pistol's butt and caused him harm. The parents' hands and legs were bound by the robbers who then confined them in a locked room.
Police gathered information from surveillance footage and forensic analysis. The police promptly initiated an investigation following the incident. The forensic team also arrived at the scene. The forensic team has discovered numerous fingerprints at the scene and is currently in the process of comparing them.
