The Chardham Yatra commences with the opening of the doors of Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham. Earlier today, the doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened for devotees to seek darshan before the morning rituals at 7 o'clock. Helicopters showered flowers during this auspicious occasion. Baba Kedar's Panchmukhi Doli has arrived at Kedarnath amidst cheers from thousands of devotees. Simultaneously, the doors of Yamunotri Dham have also been opened for devotees to seek darshan.
On Thursday, morning, Baba Kedar's Panchmukhi Doli departed from Gaurikund towards Kedarnath Dham, reaching its destination at 3:00 pm. Thousands of devotees accompanied Baba Kedar's palanquin to Kedarpuri. The atmosphere at Kedarnath Dham resonated with devotees' cheers and the melodies of the army band. Ajendra Ajay, the Chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee, warmly welcomed the Panchmukhi Doli upon its arrival at Kedarnath Dham.
The carriage of Mother Ganga set off from Mukhba towards Gangotri Dham, while it is expected to reach Doli Dham on Friday morning. Similarly, the procession of Mother Yamuna will depart from Kharshali village towards the Dham on Friday morning. The temples of Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham are elegantly adorned with flowers. Kedarnath temple alone has been embellished with over 20 quintals of flowers. This year, devotees will traverse the Aastha Path for darshan in the Dham, which includes benches for seating and a rain shelter for protection from precipitation.
To date, over 22 lakh devotees have registered for the Chardham Yatra. Judging by the registration numbers, the state government is optimistic about setting a new record of devotees participating in the Chardham Yatra this year.
