The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized seven immovable properties belonging to the prominent terrorist Sartaj Ahmed Mantu, who is linked to the banned terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Sartaj, who is currently incarcerated, owns properties encompassing 19 marlas and 84 square feet of land in Kisrigam, located in the Pulwama district of Kashmir. The attachment of these properties took place on Wednesday under Section 33 (1) of the UA(P) Act, 1967, following directives from a specialized NIA court.
Sartaj, a known terrorist, was apprehended on January 31, 2020, during which arms, ammunition, and explosives were confiscated from his possession. Subsequently, a charge sheet was filed against him on July 27, 2020, alleging his involvement, alongside five fellow Jaish-e-Mohammed members, in transporting terrorists to the Kashmir Valley.
It is noteworthy that in a span of just one week, the NIA has seized six additional immovable properties linked to another high-ranking Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist in Kashmir, as part of its efforts to combat terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
