In Khanau, a video showing the shooting champion assaulting a young man with his pistol went viral on social media. The Lucknow Police swiftly arrested the accused, Vinod Mishra, a resident of 4/15 Vivek Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, after investigating the incident. The victim, Ranjeet Shukla, residing in Dogra Patti, police station Naimi Saran, district Sitapur, was involved in a dispute with Mishra after a road accident near Bansmandi on Faizabad Road.
Mishra, driving a Safari car with registration number UP 32 PJ 1200, was struck from behind by Shukla's Wagner car with registration number UP 32 HN 0046. Mishra then proceeded to physically assault Shukla with the butt of his licensed pistol. The circulation of the video on social media sparked outrage. Following the video's circulation, the police apprehended Mishra and confiscated his pistol.
Additionally, a complaint filed by Shukla led to the initiation of legal procedures by the police. This incident sheds light on the issues of road safety and road rage in Lucknow.
