Mumbai: The festival of Mahashivratri is being celebrated across the country. Like every year, this time too, a crowd has gathered at the famous Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal in Mumbai for the darshan of Lord Ganesha and devotees have donated crores of rupees on the first day in the donation box. The Ambani family has also gifted a 20-kg crown worth Rs 16 crore to Lord Ganesha.

Counting of donations collected on the first day at Lalbagh donation box is underway. Initially, the cash in the box will be counted, followed by gold and silver ornaments offered by the devotees. On the first day of this year's Ganeshotsav, devotees have donated crores of rupees to the Lalbaug Mandal. This includes gold, silver and diamond jewellery. Gold ornaments, valuables and cash were stolen. There are two boxes in the box. The cash also includes some foreign currency notes.


Along with lakhs of devotees, people from the political and entertainment industry also come to pay obeisance at the feet of the king of Lalbagh. Business tycoon Mukesh Ambani arrives for the wedding. Mukesh Ambani's family has supported the activities of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal and donated crores of rupees. Similarly, Reliance Foundation has already provided 24 dialysis systems for Lalbaugcha Raja Dialysis Centre. In recognition of this support from the Ambani family, Anant Ambani has been appointed as the 'Chief Executive Advisor' of the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal this year. This year, the Ambani family has gifted a 20 kg gold crown to the king of Lalbaug, which is worth about Rs 16 crore.
