There has been a major earthquake in Afghanistan this morning. So far, no loss of life or property has been reported due to the earthquake. The earthquake occurred at 11.26 am today.

A similar incident had taken place a few weeks ago. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 4.8 on the Richter scale.
Afghanistan is highly vulnerable to earthquakes. There have been many earthquakes in Afghanistan in recent years. According to media reports, more than four thousand people have been killed in these incidents, while nine thousand people have been injured. More than 12,000 homes have been damaged. The magnitude of the earthquake was between 5 and 6.6 on the Richter scale.



In October 2023, there were four earthquakes in four days in Afghanistan. Thousands of people were injured. Many villages were marooned in the flood waters. Hundreds of houses were also destroyed. It was the worst earthquake to hit Afghanistan in decades. In June 2022, an earthquake in eastern Afghanistan killed more than 1,000 people.
