Mangaluru: Former minister K.S. Eshwarappa claimed that the BJP in the state, under the influence of B.S. Yediyurappa and his sons, requires cleansing. Speaking to the media at Patrika Bhavan in Mangaluru on Tuesday, he expressed that, similar to himself, the sincere workers of the party are disheartened by B.S. Yediyurappa and his family.
"He has forfeited the trust of the people in Shikaripura itself. The party's Central leadership mistakenly believes that the BJP in the state solely revolves around the potential leadership of B.S. Yediyurappa. It must be remembered that Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, a staunch Hindutva leader, is also a significant figure in the Lingayat community," Eshwarappa remarked.
"Regrettably, the BJP in the state is mirroring the Congress culture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the public to eradicate dynasty politics in Congress. However, paradoxically, in Karnataka, the dynasty politics of Yediyurappa and his sons is being endorsed." "Due to the family-centric politics of the father and sons, the BJP's strength in the Assembly has dwindled to 66," he concluded.
