Police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing fuel from tankers of Hindustan Petroleum and Indian Oil using an electric motor. The operation was conducted at Loni Kalbhor. A total of 1,620 litres of diesel and a tanker worth Rs 48 lakh were seized from the accused.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Shubham Sushil Bhagat (23). Theurphata) Trishant Rajendra Sumbhe (31 years), Ravi Kewat (25 years, Ra. Vishal Suresh Gosavi (30) Kiran Haribhau Ambekar (31 years) Rohit Kumar (21). The names of the arrested persons are as follows. A case has been registered against the owner of the tanker, Shrikant alias Sonya Rajendra Sumbe, and Praveen Sidram Madikhambe.
Hindustan Petroleum and Indian Oil have a joint venture in the Kadamwakwasti area of Loni Kalbhor. From there, petrol and diesel are filled in tankers and sent to the petrol pump in the planned way. Mundhwa police station's assistant inspector Raju Mahanor and police personnel Shivaji Jadhav and Malhari Dhamdhere received information that the thieves were stealing petrol and diesel by colluding with the tanker drivers.
This information was given by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manishi Chandra. Later, a team of Loni Kalbhor police station, led by senior inspector Rajendra Karankot and sub-inspector Amol Ghodke, conducted the operation in the open area of Kunjirwadi on the Solapur highway. The accused were found stealing petrol and diesel from the tanker. It was found that the thieves were stealing fuel from the tanker using an electric motor.(Pune Crime News)
Theft to be committed
At the behest of the tanker owner Shrikant Sumbe, the fuel from the depot was taken to a secluded place on the road in collusion with the tanker drivers. Diesel was stolen. The stolen diesel was then sold by Praveen Madikhambe in the black market.
Cases filed against oil mafia
Cases of fuel theft have been registered against Madikhambe in the past and he is known as the oil mafia in Loni Kalbhor.
