The Democracy News : HRTC's Delhi-Leh bus route is no longer the lengthiest in India, losing this distinction to the Hamirpur depot's Awadhevi-Ayodhya route. The Delhi-Leh service held the longest route title for about 16 years until it was surpassed by the Hamirpur depot in Himachal Pradesh.

The Awadhevi to Ayodhya bus service, covering a distance of 1205 km and completing its journey in 24 hours, now holds the record for the longest route in the country.

Despite this change, the Delhi-Leh bus route remains the highest, running at altitudes between 15,000 to 17,000 feet. Even though it is no longer the longest, the Delhi-Leh route through breathtaking valleys continues to offer a unique and thrilling experience for passengers.
